My Easter Home Part 2

Well the Easter Weekend is nearly here and today I am sharing the second part of my home. We have an orangery on the back of our house which we really use as a dinning room. It did start off as more of a play room but as R and H have got older they play more in their rooms and we have got more of an adult space back. We still have a big IKEA unit bursting with toys, drawing things, my cook books and my project life bits which I will have to sort out and share at another time.

Planning and creating tablescapes is one of my favourite things to do! I have been planning this one and buying bits for ages. I fell in love with this Peter Rabbit Easter tableware when I saw it in an email from Party Pieces. Its disposable but beautiful quality and just so cute. This was my starting point and the colour scheme of yellow and blue was born.

I used my white china tea set from Denby and turned my usual placemats upside down to create a neutral base. This stripy table cloth is wipeable so will hopefully see me through the weekend! I added the paper plates, napkins and these spotty cups for juice. As our first Easter celebration of the weekend is brunch I simply added a knife and teaspoon on the saucer.

I filled the tea cups with some spare eggs from my Easter tree which I picked up in Lidl and my bargin chicks in nests (Poundland). I wanted to use Spring flowers as the centre piece so I added a blue jar of daffodils and a jar of yellow tulips. I added some wire carrots to the clear glass jar to fit in with the Peter Rabbit theme.

I then added the chocolate eggs; these were from M&S and fitted my scheme perfectly. A final dot round of more nests and we are all set for pastries, fresh fruit salad and bunny pancakes.

I hung some paper fans in blue and yellow on the wall and added the Easter tree to the shelf between the kitchen and orangery, adding some festivity to the kitchen. I am really pleased with this simple scheme, R and H love it (Peter Rabbit buys them) and I love it because its bright and Easter themed but not in a cheesy bunny kind of way.

So we are set for the weekend ahead and I for one can’t wait. Please can someone tell the weather man I want sunshine and blue skies to match my colour scheme!! Are you planning an Easter table? I would love to hear about your plans.
